Deborah's Bio

Deborah Mariottini Dotzler

Deborah Mariottini-Dotzler

Relocating to Modesto after forty-eight years in the Bay Area, Willow Glen and Los Altos, my passion for interior design began as a child through influence in a small family design business where stepping stones paved my way to Slater's Home Furnishings!

The daughter of an interior designer, my youth was spent at furniture auction houses, mostly antiques, and the San Francisco Design Center where I became intrigued with fabrics and textiles while re-decorating my bedroom constantly in my teens and getting the house ready for Tuesday Night Lecture Night where my mother invited her students from her antique classes.

Currently on my eighth year with Slater's, my prior path included a 2-year interior design program, internships in fabric and furniture showrooms, the City of Saratoga Building Department, a corporate relocation firm, a residential boutique design/build general contractor, window covering/shutter manufacturers and several Silicon Valley start-ups where I supported all aspects of sales and team building.

Just prior to moving to Ripon, from San Jose, I had a design consulting business working with homeowners on all phases of remodels, kitchen & bath, color consultations and interior design; collaborating with Bay Area architects and general contractors. Several of my former clients have followed me here which I consider a special endorsement as I am a designer who values business relationships immensely. I appreciate your trust, referrals and relationships spanning over 20 years. Being invited into your home is sacred to me and I appreciate this design opportunity.

My intrigue in the "HOME" starts with the people and pets who live there! First and foremost, building rapport with clients to gain their trust and confidence is my prerequisite for successful design collaborations. My goal is to gain insight of your goals, the functionality and purpose of each room you are desiring help with; whether being reinvented or just needing a new look. Additionally, as a mother of four grown children, I understand active homes where space evolves, takes on constant repurposing and/or the need of special performance fabrics for maximum protection against soils and everyday family life.

Whether you are strolling the showroom on a rainy day, referred by a friend, neighbor, coworker or a returning client starting a new home project, it is my promise and passion that you will have my attention to detail on every facet associated with your home interiors project.

Hope to work with you SOON!
